Fat 2 Fit Show #8 - Don’t be a Skinny Fattie!

Pinch An Inch! The main topic of this week’s show was how to find out how much you should weigh, what your Body Mass Index should be, and what body fat percentage you should aim for. The problem is, all of these indicators of health seem to contradict each other. Is it even possible for everyone to be successful at all of them, no matter how fit they are? A past American Surgeon General says that the most popular method today is bunk and shouldn’t be used anymore - which one do you think it is?

Everyone knows that having a support system in place is very helpful for weight loss. We discussed last week the possibility of starting some sort of community here that would support and promote sensible weight loss and fitness goals. We received some positive feedback this week, so we will be looking into that possibility in more detail.

Jeff found a news story from the New York Times that was a review of several studies that showed exercise was better for your mind than all of the brain exercise products out there such as Sudoku or Brain Age. Russ found a couple of articles that told us even more reasons not to drink Soda.

Jeff discussed an article he wrote that listed his top 10 ways to motivate yourself to exercise and how to make it a habit, and of course we finished off with your homework assignment for the week.
