Fat 2 Fit #140 – Combatting Burnout

Written on February 16, 2012 – 10:00 pm | by Russ Turley

You are doing everything right in changing your lifestyle, but despite seeing progress you’re still feeling burned out. That’s William’s problem. He’s in the gym 6 days a week and is making all his own food. He’s meeting all his daily goals, but he’s getting “tired of doing everything everyday.” Jeff has a doozy of an answer in our email and comments section. Kasia also wrote in about the “insanity” workouts that some are doing. They claim to burn 1500 to 2000 calories per workout. Are they a good idea? Greg also wrote in and helps put your own health in prospective.

On the web report, Jeff has a few articles to discuss having to do with the Strong 4 Life campaign. Be sure to check out the link to show #23 on childhood obesity linked to below for our take on the problem. Russ’ article has to do with overweight doctors. A new study says that portly docs may be doing their patients a disservice by not engaging them in discussion about their weight.

This episode was extremely helpful to me. Fat 2 Fit radio has been on the voyage towards health with me for years now. I have embraced many of the things said in the podcast. Through weight up and down, I am losing a pound or two a month. This episode gave some excellent advice about how to balance life. “Play harder” to balance out working out harder. I really want thank Jeff and Russ for this podcast. They have been my jogging buddies when jogging home from work. I really appreciate that they look on the scales as one tool among many, with how your cloths fit. Today I tried on a pair of pants which at one point, I had to suck my gut in to wear. That was 30 pounds ago. Today, these pants are my new fatman pants and i’ll prolly only keep them for comedic value. BIG THANKS!
