TweetWritten on February 1, 2012 – 11:00 pm | by Russ Turley

First off, the 1 Million Kilo Challenge that we talked about in episode #138 is open to those outside of Australia. You just have to choose the correct field when signing up.
Email and comments are awesome this show. Laura posted a link to the top 10 reasons women want to avoid lifting weights on the Facebook page. Judy had her body fat tested with a BodPod and she shares what she learned from the experience. Michelle tells us that she’s tired of being “rubenesque” but has hit a weight loss plateau after losing 115 lbs. Unfortunately she’s trying to break the plateau by reducing her calories. Exactly the wrong way to do it.
On the Web Report, Russ reports on the news that he down-home, southern, comfort food cooking, TV hostess Paula Deen has Type 2 Diabetes. It could be an opportunity for her to change her ways, unfortunately she’s taking a different approach. Jeff shares a clip of a video from YouTube. It’s linked to below and it tells you the absolute best thing you can do to improve your health and it’ll only set you back 30 minutes a day.

In brief. How does one know when a plateau has been broken? You’ve mentioned eating increased calories over 6-8 week period, and expecting a weight gain in that time. My wife has gained 2 kilos over 2weeks. She was 76 kilos and dropped down to 64 kilos over 8 month period.has hit a plateau for several months. She realizes now after finding your show she had eaten too low amount of calories.1300 a day. She thought that 2 weeks would be long enough and is scared of regaining the weight. If you were to consistantly eat at the correct calories(1700)even if you had plateaued would your body not just adjust and eventually start losing the weight or do you have to break the plateau first? She is 42years and 5’2″. She loves your show here in oz and always tells others to listen. She is very frustrated at the moment. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks Adrian and Genny

I have the same question. I’ve been increasing my calories for 3 weeks now to break a long plateau. How will I know when it is time to cut back again?
