Fat 2 Fit #100 – Reminiscing and Announcements

Written on July 8, 2010 – 1:00 pm | by Russ Turley

A cake with 100! above it.We’ve been at this for 100 shows now. We’re changing things up a little bit. We go through those changes here on the show.

Jeff also put together two clips. The first clip contains parts of our first show way back in Oct. ’07. It’s a little painful to hear those early shows, the pauses and such, but the information is still valuable. The second clip is Russ’ weigh-ins about every six to seven weeks. It’s fun to hear the progress in a condensed form.

Our book, Fat 2 Fit: Getting there and Staying There is being released on July 15th. We go over the major sections of the book and highlight a few chapters that we are particularly proud of.  Look for the link to the book to go live soon.

We are having another meetup. Jeff is trekking down from the North for this, so you don’t want to miss it. If you live in the Los Angeles area or are visiting the area on July 31st you should come by.  We’ll be at the Islands Restaurant at the Long Beach Town Center at 6pm. Join us!

    Hey up!

Do you know when this ep 100 will be available on itunes?

    Many thanks and gratz!!

It’s available right now, but depending on when iTunes updates the feed it could be a couple minutes to a few hours. Otherwise if you’re just viewing our page on iTunes then it could be a couple days until it refreshes. It’s not instantaneous by any metric.

Congrats on your 100th podcast AND the book!! Congrats also to Russ on his fitness achievement giving creedence to Jeff’s impromptu but accurate philosophy. I may have been the one you guys referenced as to Russ’ pain in the beginning, however, one can feel the pride (it’s warranted here) in Russ’ voice and attitude. You guys are doing tremendous work and I wish you both the best.

Congratulations on episode 100, the book, Russ’s weight loss… I recently bought the back episodes and listening to them, and then listening to show 100, I couldn’t believe the difference in the professionalism and even in Russ’s voice.

Will be looking forward to hearing the first show with the new format and to seeing the book.

Well done and congratulations on providing such a great show. Your enthusiasm helps me to remain focussed when I am feeling flat. I often listen to one or two of your more inspiring podcasts when I need a push. Now that I have joined a gym that has a wide range of exercise equipment and classes, I am feeling very positive and remaining patient with myself in seeing evidence for my effort. My question is “Is it normal for someone who is watching their food intake and exercising regularly to not see much weight loss in the first few weeks of beginning their weight loss program?”

    Thank you

Congratulations to both of you for reaching show #100!

I wish that I was in California and could join you for your celebration later this month.

Looking forward to show #200. :)

Would it be possible for the book to also be published in an ebook format? I don’t want to have to wait over a week for the book to arrive, and an ebook is more portable. Thanks!

I just ordered 3 of your books – one for me and two to share. Good Luck!!! I hope you make some good money off of it!
I’ll post a review once I’ve read it.

Congratulations on reaching 100 episodes!!! Loved the podcast and hearing the journey of Russ’ losses over time. This isn’t an easy journey but by listening to your pods, trial and error, educating myself and exercising more consistently I have been able to go from 260 lbs in Jan 2007 to 205 today. I was 199 a few days ago but slip ups will happen we just can’t let them get the best of us. Keep up all the great work and I look forward to reading and sharing your book!

Congratulations on your personal and professional success of reaching 100 episodes. It really supports the theory that thin is a lifestyle not a diet. Good job.

How about adding Season One on cd to your materials available for purchase? It would be a great way to give your support and information to the non-tech savvy folks – like my sibs in their 60s that think ipod is part of the space station! Hey they still use vcrs too! Think about!!
