Fat 2 Fit #79 – Staying Motivated
Written on November 8, 2009 – 9:32 am | by Russ Turley
Lots of heavy people know everything about how to lose weight safely and effectively, but get nowhere. The reason is they lost their motivation. we are going to tell you how to get it back on this week’s Feature.
In the email and comments, listener Marian has shared with us, and you, her spreadsheet to keep track of her weight and other body measurements. She also keeps track of how she’s feeling so she has a whole bunch of data to look back on. Dr. Rick wrote in with a great tip about telling whether you have too much belly fat. A scale is not required. All you need is a tape measure and the technique works for any height individual. We also got an email from Jeff. He’s lost 100 lbs. and wants to know how much of that weight lost is fat and how much muscle did he lose.
On the Web Report, Russ has an inexpensive free workout that you can do while on the road or just at home. Jeff has a report on the FTC cracking down on diets using the loophole “Results Not Typical”. You knew that diet or product was too good to be true, and the US Government knows it now as well.

Homework:
Write down a minimum of 5 reasons that all start like this: I must lose body fat and become more physically fit, because if I don’t…. (then fill in the rest) If you come up with a list of at least 5 reasons that are truly meaningful to you and can invoke an emotional response in you every time you read them and feel them each time, you will have plenty of emotion. The more powerful reasons you can come up with and the more often you review them, the better.

The “results not typical” law must not be in effect yet. I’m still seeing all the weight loss commercials still showing this disclaimer in the USA.

Thank you for the “Fake it until you make it.” tip!
I listened to this podcast about a month and a half ago, and I’ve used it to cling on to that bandwagon a few times now.
Thank you so much!!
