Pinch an InchLose Belly Fat Now! You’ve seen that slogan or similar on magazines and on book covers.  Can any of them deliver on their promises? You’re going to have to listen and find out.  We go over the different types of body fat and the best techniques to shedding it.

In the email and comments this week, listener Andra made a blog post about changing the way she thinks about food and exercise. She wrote “I’m trying to retrain my fat brain into my fit brain.” That is awesome and exactly how you should look at weight loss.  Laura wrote in about working out while sick.  She has/had the swine flu and was feeling bad about laying around.  Please remember to take care of the body in all aspects, not just the fitness.  Get well, get rested, then get fit.  And lastly, Judi wrote in wondering if she could count protein powder as a lean protein.  Sure, just don’t make it a habit.   Eat some real food.

On the Web Report, Jeff has a wonderful web site that will find recipes based on what you have in your pantry.  It’s called Supercook and it is just fabulous.  Russ’s article is a list of 10 salads that are really high in calories.  How high you ask?  Try over 1700 calories for the # 1 worst salad on the list.

Homework:
Being prepared is 80% of the battle to eating healthy. This was homework more than a year ago, but it is probably time to do it again. It may be time to go to the grocery store and stock up on a few healthy frozen dinners. If you get caught with no time to cook or nothing healthy at home to eat, these will always be there so there is no excuse to eat poorly.

    Loved this episode!
    Just one correction – while it is true that you must rest when you are ill, it is not a good idea to lay around – especially flat. This puts you at risk for pneumonia and blood clots in your legs, plus the more you lay around the longer it will take you to get your strength back.
    It is recomended that you sit up for periods during the day, and short periods of walking around will not interfere with your rest and will do a lot to prevent complications as well as help you get your strength back sooner than someone who simply lies down the whole time they are sick.

    I love suprcook.com! I’ve used it a bunch of times when I’ve had ingrediants and had no clue what to do with them! I’m surprised I never thought to share it with you guys!
