Fat 2 Fit Show #45 – Breaking Weight Loss Plateaus
Written on October 26, 2008 – 12:16 am | by Russ Turley
You could call it a weight loss intervention. You may call it helpful advice. Either way, in this week’s show Jeff grills Russ on why his weight loss has come to an almost screeching halt. After many months of successful weight loss, the pounds have stopped coming off. They talk about what causes weight loss plateaus and how to get past them.
In the e-mail and comment section of the show we answer two questions about calories and high fructose corn syrup. Rick writes in and asks about doubling the number of calories he eats at breakfast. Colorful Kimbo has heard differing opinions on whether high fructose corn syrup is good for you. What do you think?
In the Web Report, Jeff walks us through an article explaining what the most popular male cover model on Men’s Health Magazine eats on a daily basis. It’s one of those perfect diets that everyone should strive to eat. One of the recipes will probably make it as a Recipe of the Week. Russ talk about the Trikke. It’s a vehicle that will get you from point A to point B while burning some serious calories at the same time. A neighbor of Russ’ rides a Trikke around the local school doing laps and he has lost 20 lbs.

I have been listen since the begining and used alot what you been talking about. This episode was really good I had this same problem. I started out 325lbs januray 12 2008 and I went 275lbs and was stuck there for long time and recently about 2 months ago changed some things got to 262lbs. I cut out the High fructose sugar in breads and anything that had it. Also my wife eat only things that we know what is in it. So example would be peas and water. Also I eat vegetarian 4 times week. I also changed my workout to using Kettlebells using Ironcore dvd to learn and do a little circut they provide. Now that is working I decide to start new Kettlebell challege its call Enter the kettlbell and I really like it. This how works you get dvd learn basics and pdf with all information on program. but don’t really need the dvd if understand what your reading. I bought a workbook for this program to make structured. I really think you will like it. Its from Art of strength website and its called AOS ETK workbook. Also if you could maybe you can talk about something on kettlbells. On a good work circuit you can burn 800 to 1000 calories. If you doubtful I Challenge you to do 3 minutes of swings with a 35lb kettlebell which is what a average male should start out with. Thank for all great information and keep it coming.

Thanks for answering my question- I hadn’t gotten to listening to this podcast for a while because I’m going through the 1st season. I’m going to try eating smaller meals. My current exercise goal is to spend at least 30 min/day- I’ve been walking while lifting two 5lb hand weights. I will look into either increasing the amount of weight I use or try adding some additional exercise time in the evenings. Given the current economy exercising on a budget would be a great topic for a future pod cast!
